I am having problems with my automatic door locks blowing a fuse (#102) every time the electronic door lock is activated: inside switch on driver or passenger, Ford's remote, the aftermarket remote, or when I get the speed up over 15 mph.
I bought the truck out of state (the wife's active duty military and we bought and registered it in her home state). I had that dealership there install an alarm before I picked the truck up. Unfortunately, the dealership I work with here is not particularly enthusastic about looking into the problem (not that I can blame them; much). The truck is not even 3 months off the lot; but it will be another 6 months before I get back to the place I bought it.
The finger pointing is beginning to frustrate me. Although I've looked into the door actuator rebuild thread; I'm not sure it's the same problem. Any ideas or suggestions?
It could be the alarm - I really don't know. It did work well for 2 months. It'd been waiting for us at the airport parking lot and when I'd picked it up it'd been cold-soaked and snow snowed upon. (Our biggest 1 day snowfall ever happened the day before). Worked OK when I picked the truck up, but died on the way home.
Unfortunately, it'll be 6 months before I get back to the Pacific Northwet where we bought it. Since my last post, I did find a dealer for that alarm here in town.
Thanks for the thoughts (and your service -- my wife retires in a year).
Please thank your wife for her service as well. Most do not understand the call to duty and sacrifices made. I do notice quite a few Superduty owners here are ex-miltary, warms my heart.
I would try pulling the fuse on the alarm system and see if that doesn't solve the BSM fuse problem.
I grew up North of Seattle, in Snohomish Co. Left it in 2003, traffic and prices got to be too much for us.
