Ship Date hold up could be as simple as waiting on the owners manuals to get printed, warranty info on tires, repair info to dealers...etc.
You can go to USEPA's web site under the Clean Air Act (Mobile Sources) and with enough patience you can find the rules on what model year a company can use.
It's actually somewhat complex rule...imagine that.
Well guys I have some good news for you. I was at the Detroit auto show today and I heard the Ford rep saying that the new super duty WILL be on dealer lots by the end of the month. Had a good look at the truck up close (they had 4 on display) and they are amazing, comfortable to sit in as well.
Sounds to me like this whole "waiting" situation is one big [Edited by kw5413 for language]....I hope Ford gets their act together and the truck doesn't wind up being a P.O.S. or I'll be damn upset I got rid of my '06 PSD!!
I spoke with my contact this morning, and she said that they started shipping the Gas engines on Friday night and the Diesels were leaving as of this morning. She had permission to release all of what she had on the lot in Kentucky. Yippeee!
If the Ford rep said it...then....well...I dont know. I am just so confused now.
I am glad that you got to take a look at the trucks close up Herman, too bad you couldnt take pics.
Well I did get to take some pics, but there the same as the ones ford has put out, and they turned out a little blurry, but if i figure out how to post them and you guys want i can post them anyways.
I ordered mine the first week of Jan. 350, XLT. I am hoping for a delivery during the first two weeks in Feb. I HOPE there are no major problems with it........ it is a big investment for me. My '01 is getting about worked out and the time has come. I guess I'm a bit worried about how it will look "in person". I wish they would throw in a bit of incentive............
I sense a call to my dealer this Thursday or Friday to see if my truck has shipped. It's going to take a while to clear 10,000 trucks off the lot. Sorry Banksstroker, but I hope they use LIFO (Last In First Out) for shipping.
I heard they were just going to crush the few ''08 trucks that made it to the end of the assembly line and just sell parts for the remaining few months it takes Toyota to engineer, design, build, market and take-over the 8800+ GVW market.
