OK, I will start by saying I am obsessed with the '08 Powerstroke release. I ordered mine November 3rd while at SEMA and shortly thereafter recieved a ETA of build date 12/18 and approximate delivery of 1/1. As of 1/1 I still had no truck. I then called my dealer, he had no clue where it was, but said it had been produced. Then I called the Ford 800 customer service number, they said the same thing adding that it should be delivered 1/1 to 1/8. So, being unhappy with the answers I had been given, I ran a search for Ford telephone numbers on Google. After some searching and a few wrong leads, I came upon an individual very close to the knowledge of the release. According to my contact, my truck has been produced, back two weeks ago, but no trucks for general release have yet been authorized by Ford to release/ ship. She said that she thinks that the ship date for many of these trucks sitting there may be late week...but she did not know for sure. Another lady I talked to said that she believed that the big wigs from Detroit were going to be down for a meeting this Friday, and they may decide it then. I just wanted to keep everyone as excited as I am up to date. Yippee.
I'm calling TOTAL BS on this one.
The manure pile is getting pretty darned big.
He said, she said, blah blah blah, lady who works at pinstriping 08 trucks, blah blah blah.
Add another to the list.......I also have an F450 ordered and can't wait to hear that SOMEONE actually got one! I only have a partial VIN number and a Priority 01 coded build sheet.......Hope that means Soon!
Regarding the comments about my purchase of an '08: jmcholden and Powerdude, The quote was "while at SEMA". I ordered the truck while physically at SEMA from Santa Fe Ford in Alachua, Florida (off my cell phone) on November 3rd order number 8002. In addition, please run a Google search for Louisville Kentucky Ford Plant and you will see several phone number options for the Ford Plant in Louisville. I called after five o'clock eastern time and talked to a security guard who gave me a phone number for someone he thought could help me. Try your luck...I ended up getting a hold of who I believe is the shipping manager. Her name was not disclosed to potentially protect her from being accused of sharing sensitive information, and jeopardizing her job.
In the future, if you doubt my sources, or my story, please private message me, before publicly accusing me of misleading the members of this forum. It sucks when you try to share information to others excited about this trucks release and/ or their new purchase and some misguided individual accuses your legitimate information of being false. I hope we don't dissuade any potential new also legitimate information from equally honest members because of fools like you.
BANKSSTROKER,
Well excuse me for not believeing your story but perhaps if you had more details the first time I would have believed you! Seems there is only rumors and few facts concerning the new truck and engine.
read the other post in the 2008 6.4 model section about Ford Navistar supply problems. If ford releases these trucks, you will probably have "collectors items".
I stopped at a Stealer today and they told me 1 to 1 1/2 months for delivery. I just want to take one for a good test drive. I'll give up my 7.3 right along with my right to bare arms.
At this point who cares, Ford has their head so far up their rearend its not even funny.
Angree customers with no answers seems to be their norm anymore. Not a smart way to run a business. I should have bought another make!!!
