Hey guys,
New to Fords and the site and have to say this a good place to find info but I'm stumped. I have an 1989 F150 5.8L. I've serched high and low for the spout connector and either I'm blind or stupid or both but I can't find it to save my life. Just so you know, I looked all up and down the wiring harnes from the dist and on the driver fender with no luck. If someone has a picture of the spout on the same year and model truck maybe I could find it. Thanks....
Not sure about the 89's but in 88 they offered the Duraspark II Distributor which used a vacuum diaphragm to advance the timing. Does your distributor have a vacuum line going to it?
The other ignition system offered was the TFI-IV. The ignition timing advance is done by the computer and has the Spout connector. It also a TFI Ignition Module bolted to the side of the distributor. I don't know when, but I think they eventually moved the TFI Module to the fenderwell area because of the heat problem.
I'll have to look but off the top of my head I don't recall seeing any vacuum lines. I also could not find the TFI module on the fender wall. Still stumped, need a picture.. Thanks for the rely...
