AEM brute force intake

I just a bought a 99 f150 with a 4.6 and was planning to buy this for it. Doing some more research about it i found that the largest horsepower gain is only 7hp. Is this true? K&N FIPK has almost twice as much hp. I know that im not going to get major gains with a cold air intake but the AEM just seems like a waste of money if those numbers a true. Also some will say just buy the K&N then, but i like the idea of the dryflow filter since i had some headaches with a K&N setup on my fox mustang. Anyone have a brute force on there truck? what is you experience with it?

thanks all

Ihaone and really liked the gains. I prefer the Volant because of its design, having a closed box.

The dry flow filter is great though, especially if you had MAF sensor issues in the past. Volant is more pricey, my top choice, and then the Brute Force follows. I saw over 7hp increase but also installed it with my Mag system at the same time.

We have the Brute Force here http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/air-filters/61A2053A0A0.aspx?kc=MOTORH and the Volant here http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/air-intakes/60A1817A0A0.aspx?kc=MOTORH.
