last night one of my friends was throwing around a bottle and when they dropped it it hit the dash somewhat hard and put a crack in the dash... the crack is only about a half inch long and it didnt take any of the material off the top, but i am a perfectionist and need it fixed really badly... and i was wondering if there is any kind of glue or something that i could seal this up with because it is completely driving me nuts... i dont want to spend all the money i have toward a new dash though, so i pretty much just need a long lasting but decent looking repair.
thanks
A coverlay dash or a dash mat are your best options. To try and repair it, you will end up with a smooth patch that will annoy you more. Years ago there was an infomercial of stuff to patch leather and plastic, if I recall it correctly, they also used it on dash boards.
this is totally driving me nuts... im so **** about that stuff and just that small crack drives me nuts... you have any clue on where to get an overlay or anything like that?
There is an outfit here in Kansas called the plastic doctor. I had a dash fixed one time where he mixed up an epoxy, filled the crack, and then pressed some material into it to texture it to make it the same as the rest. The color matched too. Just check around.
