Yes ... I gave them the NHTSA # and they had to do some research on it. This is the one that covers the 90 model https://www.ford-trucks.com/recalls/.../y-1990/t-4572

I do not understand why you are going this route, it is over the 12-year limit for a 1990 and Ford is not going to give you anything.
The last member that found the check valve kit said it was too expensive to buy, another one said Ford would no longer honor anything on recalls that old.
One other had fuel problems and removed the check valves to fix his problem.
Another one said he talked his Ford dealer into putting the check valves on after several visits as some Ford dealers try to keep their customers and raise there PR.

If you have replaced the FDM and it has good valves in it you do not need the outside check valves anyway. So why are we talking about these recalls?

I guess because we can. I asked earlier if anyone thought I might be able to do away with that checkvalve since I just replaced the fuel pump. I did not replace the whole assy, but I don't see that there is a difference unless ford changed the top pipe portion of the FDM since the original version, I know there are check valves built into the plastic pump portion. I am reasonably sure the front one will hold, the rear pump works great, but being old, I don't know if that built in high pressure valve is in good shape or not.

I am not trying to get them to honor any recall .... I just want to be able to get replacement parts ... the flow through the one on my front tank is very forced ... and this part wearing out has probably been the cause of some pump failures.

Yes any blockage in the supply line or return line can make the fuel pumps go out. This was talked about in the 1993 fuel pressure regulator recall. The pressure can go from 90-100 psi if blocked.

Yeah, that lasted for a little while for me, then the front pump gave out .... I had the rear filling the front.

As much as $250 for the whole Assy. I got one a lot cheaper and turned a few others on to them ... but until I figure out why I am getting 30PSI at idle I will keep that info to myself for a while, but I am sure it is that added on check valve.

Idle should be about 34PSI if you have good vacuum.
The fuel pressure should go up as you rev the engine to about 38 to 43PSI.
If at idle you pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator then the fuel pressure should go to 45PSI with your finger over the end of the vacuum hose to keep it running.

Note that the above fuel pressures are for an eight cylinder and a six is higher.

I have the 6 .... it goes to about 45PSI running but at idle it sinks down to 30PSI ... and this causes the truck to kill at those long stoplights. I am gonna yank that check valve this weekend if weather permits and see what it does.

On an 88 with a 4.9, will installing a new front pump fix the crossflow issue?

If the front is filling while on the back then NO it will not.
One of two things are wrong, a bad rear tank fuel pump or a stuck "O" ring in the selector valve on the frame.
The fix would be to replace the rear tank pump or the selector valve.

The fuel pressure regulator or a clogged fuel filter will take out the hi-pressure check valve on the non-running pump.
