The radio in my Escape has stopped working. No sound comes out. The clock works if you push the CD eject button. It will still take Cds and eject them but it will not play CDs or tapes. I put a meter on it; the power line is getting 12V with ignition off and 14.5V with car running. When the problem first started, the radio would only work with the clutch pedal pushed in(there's a switch on the pedal that has to be engaged to start vehicle). Well I taped the switch down and it worked fine for a while, now it won't come on at all regardless of the switch. Anybody else ever have this problem or know how to fix it. I read the thread on cold weather. Not an issue as the problem started in Florida( ahhh sunny Florida). I now live in NC but the weather has been rather mild here. Somebody please help me!
I also came here searching for a solution to a similar problem. I have a 2002 Escape and today the radio just stopped working. No power to it seems. Fuse checks out ok. All other accessories work. Mine will not eject CD's nor does the clock work. Any ideas?
My wife's 2002 Escape's radio did the same thing. It worked sporadically and then would be fine. If you touched the brakes the seek button activated and it changed channels. The dealer said it was fried and they replaced it with a remanufactured one under warranty.
