Jim, Welcome to the nations #1 ol Ford truckstop site. 
I have run the Unilite with no problems. It has an unbelievable curve to it. Most folks say it is better for racing than street use, mainly because it doesn't have vacuum advance.
One of the better things you can do is add an electronic ign. with a kit like the Petronix for about a hundred bucks. The Uni is much more expensive and then you have to add the coil.

Thanks John... I really do appreciate your information. I picked up a Mallory Unilite 3755301 on Ebay for $78 looks like new but it is untested and as is. Have not recieved it yet. Looking forward to getting it and hoping it is not blown.
