just alittle more info.
The shift lever was replaced before i got the trans because it broke where the shifter bolts to the shift lever. but i got the old part so it has to be a recent replacement.
The only other thing i can think of is the shift control housing being worn.
I got:
.016" between #6 & #11 (sideways movement between shifter and pivot girdle)
.014" between #11 & #7 (forward/backward movement in the housing)
.012" betweem #10 & #8 (sideways movement in the housing)
.006" between #10 & #7 (sideways movement in the housing)
I swapped #7 and #8 and got the same readings
anyone know how much #10, #7/8 cost?
7 & 8 list for 2.77 at the dealer; they are the same part, number E7TZ 7C371 A. Number 10 in your diagram lists for 86.40 and carries part number E7TZ 7203 A.
Thanks, but i was cheap today so i just made shims from thin sheet metal and added bushings into #7 & #8. Now the only slop is where the ball end of #6 goes into the trans (dont know what part it is)
