This really is an impressive GPR!

Ok, got it now. Maybe the GPRs your buying are really starter relays disguised as a GPR. They look the same. I know the cheapies from Autozone & Napa will not hold up very long. Even the one the dealer sells, big $$, won't last as long as the Stancor.
That's a lot of GPR's in a short period. Do you do a lot of short trips. The GP's may be cycling too long everytime you start it even with engine warmed up or worse yet, they may be sticking on for some reason.
I can tell when the GPR is cycling by watching the voltmeter. I ususally keep an eye on them.

I try to stay away from short trips, and engine is up to operating temperature. I will install spare from IH. My quarter says it fires right up. I have not checked when temps are up. Glow plugs should not be called for then, correct? If they are, this excessive usage could be the problem? Engine oil temp triggers the pcm to provide ground for circuit? Kwiks push button and the LED indicator are sounding promising. Thanks

I just helped a buddy out with this a month or two ago. It was actually a bit comical...
He said his truck has been hard to start when it was cold for the last couple winters. I asked him if there was any smoke and he said "Yeah, white. Why??".
I printed out Guzzle's write up on this and he's up and running...

Hello Friends, I noticed in the 'write up' on the first page that it said to disconnect both batteries. My owners booklet said that if power is lost to the radio (someone trying to steal it) that it will not work and must have a dealers code put in it to work. What is the scoop on this? Is the radio and all electrical elements 'OK' if both batteries are disconnected?

Hey Barry it may be a little overkill for us down here in the south, however I bought one and will be replacing the original soon just so that I know that I will have a reliable GPR. Plus I think it is a little PMS also.
