E5/E7's on 69 block...can it work?

E5/E7's on 69 block...can it work?
I have a set of E5 heads which are practically the same as E7's. They came off a 87 truck motor and I am wanting to put them on my 69 block for better compression. The heads on the 69 block are 69cc heads. Will the E5/E7 heads fit on my 69 block without any trouble or do I have to drill holes in the block to match the water jackets? I read somewhere where you had to drill holes in the block or something but I can't find the website where it was at.
