I have a 96 bronco and the water in the radiator is looking a little dirty. Is it pretty easy to flush out the radiator? If anyone has a link or steps that could guide me I would greatly appreciate it.
first thing makes sure you catch all the antifreeze in a closable container . animals and little kids love the taste and it kills. go to any parts store and buy a flush kit they are cheap and contain instructions. i run mine a couple of days with vinegar in it before i flush, you wouldnt beleive the dif. think what vinegar does to your coffee maker when it is clogged
A good sale on the premixed stuff is great too. It's demineralized water - but if you are just going to top it off later with tap water it's not worth it. Just make sure you don't pay more for it than what it would cost you to mix it yourself.
Use a rad flush - Gunk or whoever - make them. Dump antifreeze, add water and rad flush run for 10 - 15 minutes after the thermostat opens, drain, add fresh water and run again. Dump it and repeat til the water coming out is clean. Refill with coolant.
