Vent for module

No, that truck was stolen from me several years ago. It was just 3 cuts. One vertical and two horizontal at top and bottom. The vertical cut toward the front of the truck. Bend the flap outward and it makes an air scoop. It can be almost any size. Mine was a little under 1-1/2 inch square.

Cool. :) (i feel better now, i thought i was the only crazy one here)

I relocated mine to the otherside of the fender apron's square section.

I wanted to move the can-a-tomatoes back out of the way, but then... radient heat from the engine would be "shining" on the module. :/

Moved the module. :)

Not only are you crazy but you can join the club.

I do stuff like that all the time as "improvements". I think long and hard on these little engineering improvements before doing them. I try to figure out what the OEM designers had on their minds when designing parts and systems, then try to figure out why they didn't do the mod I have in mind. I have to remember there is a reason for every part on that vehicle and every little "feature" in any part.

Cool. :)

We may not come up with the same ideas but we -are- thinking the same way. :)

Like the vacuum reservoir blocking the radiant heat from the module.

Don't know if they had that in mind but I didn't want to take a chance on it and simply move the tomato-can out of -my way- and call it "good". :/

There is a space available for the vacuum reservoir behind the headlight inside the fender where those holes are located.

I guess I omitted one feature. It's been more than 20 years since I moved my module. I had forgotten where Henry Ford had put it originally. I moved mine to the squared ridge that's on top of the apron. The module/modules are mounted vertically ,on edge, against the ridge. That's where I cut the vent. Behind the module in the vertical section of the apron. I guess Henry had it mounted flat. I have 3/8" spacers behind both modules.

Thanx for the pix. I actually couldn't remember where mine was originally. Mine has a twin mounted in front of the original now. I move everything. My coil has been on top of the AC compressor for years. It catches airflow from the fan which has to be cooler than sitting on top of the manifold down behind all the wires and plumbing. The air from the fan is hot but it keeps moving and that's better than soaking the coil in engine heat.
