My wife just bought me a chip for my 7.3 ltr 2001 superduty. Its called Juice Attitude made by Edge Products cost around $900 can. just wondering if any body else is runing one? It looks prety good, it replaces gauges , 5 adjustable power levels, touch of a button control, dramatically improves driveability, towing performance and mileage.
my brother has one on his 2001, its not as good as a chip but it will do the trick and give your psd some more ponies. very easy to install. i dont think its a 900 dollar unit though, i could of swore it was somewhere in the area of 500 maybe even cheaper. u can find them on ebay for around 400. but ya it will add performance, mileage is probable hit or miss depending on how you drive.
I'll chime in. I still have one for a couple of weeks yet. Pros n cons - Pros are, for the price, you get a chip that has multiple power settings, it defuels you if you're going to break something, you can alter what point you want it to defuel based on EGT's, and with the attitude, most of your important gauges are right there in digital display.
You can change programs on the fly, and you can even tweak each program a little via the "low boost" option. It basically is a way of you telling it whether you want the low end to be more responsive (= more smoke) or better fuel efficiency.
If your truck is basically stock, its not a bad deal. I would say the fuel economy improvement I got by doing intake, exhaust, and chip was dramatic. About 5 mpg. I've heard a range of 3-8. I think 8 would be very rare, but most people could expect at least the 3.
Now, what it doesn't do. It doesn't give you tranny temps, which I think are very important. Especially considering how some 4R100's respond to towing.
Mine defuels before the max EGT set point, to prevent you from getting there. Most of the time, thats not a big deal, but there have been times where climbing a hill and the rpms are ramping up that feeling that sudden backdown in the pedal is really frustrating.
I'm going to uninstall mine and sell it because I'm opting for a DP tuner since his programming is a little more custom, and I've done more to the truck than I initially thought I would (we've heard THAT a time or two!).
I think, IIRC, it was about a 700USD unit when I bought it, with the attitude monitor. The install is about an hour deal.
I got the Juice with attitude as well it is ok. I dont like the way it shifts though if you got it on the extreme setting. I havent really noticed a big difference in fuel mileage. Its easy to install the hardest part is drilling and tapping the manifold.
