Roller Cam pushrod length

I Bought a remanned 351w for my 89 E-250. Stock moter also a 351w. The pushrods on the new motor are much shorter than the 89. They are about 7 1/2 inches long dose this mean its a roller cam for sure.
if it is will it be ok with the speed density setup?
Is the firing order different?
Thanks.

Also What are The HP TQ Specs on this engine vs. the old 89.

On a reman long block you should be able to see the roller lifters, no guess work there. Roller 5.0 rods are 6.25", 351's would be 1.3" longer (that's the difference in deck height between the two)

sorry i am new to the whole concept of overhead valve v8s. I was a honda technician for a while.

there is a kind of metal plate on top of the block that is different then the 89.

what do roller lifters look like?

They look like regular lifters on top, but have rollers on bottom that ride the cam lobes (like cam followers on a Honda) There will be a lifter retainer "spider" in the lifter valley that's secured with 2 bolts to the block, and the spider holds the lifter "dogbones" in place on the lifter tops.

the lifters have a part between each pair that look as if they keep them from spinning around. I guess that is a sign that there are roller lifters.

So dose this cam work with speed density?

Yes, these motors were also speed density. The old motors were spec'd at about 325tq and 190hp.. but I have never seen one that could reach it's peak HP rpm. The roller motor should make 350tq and 220hp with stock exhaust, and it will easily spin to the rev limiter.

Firing order-- 13726548 cylinders are numbered 1 thru 4 on the passenger side, front to back, 5-8 on drivers side, front to back. Distributor rotation is counterclockwise.
