Is this engine right?
Turns out the F7 truck I bought is a '52. Did they put Y-blocks in these? The plate in the glove box says it was equipped with a 128 hp engine. Any help would be um...helpful! Thanks.

From what I've heard it would have been the big 337 flathead.

The numbers on the Y-block thats in the truck now are 46W:2 What do they mean?

The '52 big, big trucks (F7s & F8s)came with new 6 & 8 overhead valve enginges. I don't have the specs in front of me, so I can't give you any specific info. The F4 - F6s still came through with the flathead 239 V8. Get yourself a service manual with the 1952 supplement to get all the details.

Is this engine right?
The '52 F7 came with a 145 HP "Cargo King" V8.
It was a new overhead valve design for '52.
The displacement was 279CI.

In 1952 Ford replaced the 337 flathead in the F-7 & F-8 with the 279 and 317 "Cargo King" Y-Blocks.
