95 7.3

im thinking about rebuilding the engine in my f-350 soon its a 7.3 powerstroke with 326xxx on it now iv done gas motors be for how hard of a in-frame rebuild is it and what are some helpful tips on doing it?

I believe you have to pull the motor before you can rebuild it. Someone else should have info on rebuilding it.

due to the nature of the cross member it is difficult to do an inframe rebuild. if you want to pull your motor mounts and jack up the motor as much as possible then you can get the pan off just enough, but still that is just a pain, i would suggest just pulling the motor and save your self a few bloody knuckles and cuss words!

Some have cut the crossmember out and then welded it back into place when they were done. I'd say that's the only other way to do it besides pulling the engine.

Pull it and do it right. Never cut that crossmember. Diesels are no harder thana gas engine to rebuild. Just a couple different parts in there like injector cups and a lot of o rings but it's easy.
