DVD Burner Question

My CD/DVD drive on my laptop broke.

So, I'm thinking of an external DVD burner, for my laptop and PC.

The PC only has USB 1.1 and the laptop has both USB 1.1 and firewire.

I have to go fairly cheap; but I also want decent quality.

Any suggestions on which brand/model to get?

Thanks.

They are not very expensive nowadays.. Compusa has them for around $49.00.. Many brands to choose from..

The only think is they are USB 2.0 (which is compatible with USB 1.1)..

Actual speeds will be some what slow than specified.

NewEgg has an ASUS external drive for $67.00 that is both Firewire and USB 2.0

I wouldn't waste your money on Lightscribe.. I got one and it is not that great..
I usually end up writing on the disc with a sharpie to label it..
