Another option : I've been researching pre-cast foundation wall systems.
That is, they pre-cast basement wall sections at the factory, then install them onto your footers. An entire house foundation can be installed in a day. And because the concrete is poured in controlled conditions, they can use very tough, non-pourous 5,000psi mixes. Many manufacturers add wood studs and insulation right into/onto the concrete, so your inner wall is already ready to go too.
Not sure about the cost - but it looks like a great idea especially for cold climate construction.
update, I decided to use ICF 24 inch wide forms for the footers around the home wall.
Will use either EcoBlock, or Reward Wall for stem wall and the exterior walls.
Should be breaking ground on my new home in April , getting real excited.
