Okay, It's Getting Close To Engine Time
Always wanted to post a title in all caps..
I spoke with Tim (oldordstone) awhile back, and have sent him 250 to make sure he has the $$ for the engine and tranny...I think it's worth it..plus would save time on the pull, to get the tranny as well.
He brought up a lot of good points...but i'll save that for another discussion when we all get togther on the phone and talk some things out.
So, as i mentioned before in on of the threads, I'm going to be running later than planned...but I will bring my wifes pickup to haul the engine and tranny back with.
I can keep it at my place, or could meet with someone and we could transfer it along the way, or just keep it at my place until it needed and figure things out from there.
We really need to figure some stuff out...i/e truck to use, and I see that we may still get nighteze truck...then there's dans truck we may want to use...plus the wildcard I'm waiting to hear back on for the 4x4 my neighbor could possibly get us.
Back to topic on the engine pull...
My plan............
Tomorrow I'll ge my set of "carry all" sockets and a few swivels and extensions...I think this set I have only goes to 3/4...do we need anything larger? if so, no issue, just let me know.
Im also going to look for my intake plates, I have 2 or 3 of them...we might get lucky and the holes in one of them may fit the ntake holes on the 460...but if not, I'll also have my cordless drill and sme bits and we can wing it and make it work.
I'll also bring a few chains, I only have sme longs ones available right now, i have the short ones in use on the '36...holding up the 5.0/AOD for staging.
I'll call the PnP (Tim gave me the number) and see hat they can provide for the aframe to yank the sucker out with...I can't bring y cherry picker, since it's holding up an engine right now, but evn if they only prvide the A Fram, i have a 1/2ton hoist...but we'll see when I talk to them.
Sooooo, in a perfect world I get there about 1 or 2pm, you guys have everything ready to pull
and we yank it, and I take it and go from there...or less perfect
I get there and help out on things and we still get it out and into the back of my pickup.

I called the PnP, they have Aframes, no charge...they have two, but are first come first served. I told the lady we'd need in early afternooon, she didn;t think it'd e a prblem, but we have to see whan we get there and are ready.
Yeah, I know how that goes...
"Gotta go hun, see ya tonight. Oh by the way"... (as you open the door) "I'musingyourtrucktohaulanenginebackhomeseeyatonig ht - Loveyabye". (Door shut, gone...)

I just got home from Carson City. I went out and checked to make sure the 460 is still out there and intact, and yes it is still there.
I'll be seeing you guys out there. Bring tools and warm clothes. It is supposed to be a nice day but you know how the weather it can unexpectedly get all of the sudden.
