Question Heating problems

My expeditions heating system is not working properly. Though it blows air normally it only heats in the back, in the front it still blows cool air, even when its set to the highest. any suggestions?

Is it a manual or automatic temperature control system? If it's the automatic system, from my researches on these boards, you might have a broken blend door or blend door actuator. Do a search on blend door and you may find the answers you seek.

Good luck!

Since winter of '05, I'd had the front no-heat problem in my '97 Expedition. Last week, I had my mechanic flush the front heater core. Completely solved the problem. Total cost = $65

Hope that helps.

I had the front heating problem in my '99 EXP. Had to have the dash removed to replace the door flap that allows the hot air in. I first had the heater core flushed and trouble shot the cold/hot dial to make sure it was working properly, replaced the water pump, thermostat and radiator before I had the door replaced, at the cost of $400 at a shop for removing the whole dash, this was 2 years ago and now this year I am not getting heat at the front or back and already had the truck in the shop to have the coolant system flushed. So I took over the '99 and bought my wife an '04. I have invested about $1000 in my heating system. Go to a parts store and buy you a couple of electric heaters that plug into the 12 volt power ports.

Make sure you don't have a bubble in the coolant system. Also check your thermostat.
