I'm not sure were to find all these items on a motorhome chassis but it will operate the same as a reg. size truck so here goes. Vacuum will be supplied from the intake to the control panel in the dash. Somewhere in line to the cab you should find a vacuum storage tank. System could also tee off and supply cruise system with vacuum. Most likly a leak will be found in a hose around the engine compartment. Could also be under dash where it routes thru to controls or could be leaking at control panel vacuum switch it's self. Air coming out defrost ducts no matter where the control is positioned is a sign that it is in default mode or a loss of vacuum to activate the motors. Track vacuum system from intake to control panel for disconnected or broken connections or hoses. Hope this helps.
I have a 1980 Ford Bronco full size That the heater blows out the ac vents when ever you put on the defroster. I put in a new vacum switch but that didn't help. Can I take a vacum pump and hook it up in the engine compartment to see if it is leaking vacum inside the cab. Does anybody have any good ideas to fix this problem? Darrel
In my 1980 F150 the dash vents never shut off. I can move the slider to the defrost or floor positions and some air goes where it's supposed to but the dash vents never close so you don't get much through the defrost. Help us
Darrel, I have never tried a vacuum pump that way but it sounds like something that might work. Sounds like you need to look for a bad vacuum control motor to one of the doors. Charlez, samething + check vacuum switch.
