I may have one in my garage. I remember seeing the ford script. I will not be using it so I will check when I get home to make sure. I will pm you if I have one.
Where'd ya go? I've been emailing you for a couple of weeks now......
Man, I never went anywhere dang it. But I am leaving tomorrow evening for Lost Wages for a few days of fun and games. Its been so long I forgot what we discussed but I still have the dang thing, sent you pictures long ago of it, let me know if we talked about a price. As far as I know my email is working okay, don't know why your em's havent been getting through.....
Yes, you quoted a price (which was acceptable). In my emails - I asked you a couple of questions regarding precisily where the holes were in relation to the letters and I asked you how much more to cover postage to my address.

What day will you be back from Los Vegas?
I'll try to contact you then by pm.
Thanks,
Will return Sunday. Try my email again, it is a lot easier than trying to communicate this way. My em is working fine and has been so don't know why you can't get through. gw65atgwtcdotnet
and you do know that is encrypted. as far as the holes go, I don't even remember except they will have to be patched regardless of where they are and it looks pretty simple to me. I ain't looking for sympathy or trying to be rude, but this deal has dragged on a lot longer than necessary so either lets get er done or forget about it.
It has some very cool metalworking tips and tricks. I've seen your handywork with wooden bucks and your ingenuity in metal work. I think you're the man to do it.
You give me far too much credit. I apreciate that link. Some real interesting stuff there and it sure makes the old brain starting thinkin....I had thought about making my own for about one nano-second.... There's one other avenue I'll explore.....
Still want to see this idea play out though cause I think it would be cool to have the Ford script in the middle of that non-Ford tailgate......he,he,he
I'm sure it's been done before by someone, but for once I thought it up on my own rather than copying someone else's idea....
Brother Bob
Let us not give up here. We have some time.
Ol' Reamer is done with his F-4 and is looking for something to do, He's a woodworker and has access to a press.
Maybe we could get something going with him, I just might like to stick a couple of those on my Panel Truck, somewhere.
I have a pretty good Ford Script Font that we can work with.
Seem that it would be just workin out the size you want.
Reamer makes the bucks, presses the metal and we be happy!
The original Ford script derived from Henry Fords chicken scratch handwriting. There have been several versions over the years. The early script on Model T's (pressed into brass radiator shells) looks very different from the Model A script of 1928. In 1932 the script changed again...it pretty much remained the same till 1949, when it disappeared from cars, and a few years later when block letters F O R D used on trucks replaced the script.
Blue oval as an ID emblem...not as widely used as many think. It first appeared on 1928 Model A's and was used till the early 40's. It pretty much disappeared from use as decoration on cars/trucks till 1981, when it made a comeback.

Not so in Australia.....the blue oval has been on many Ford products and didn't really disappear, although I am struggling to recall a fifties car with one.

First Blue Oval to appear on a US passenger car since 1941:
E1DZ-5442528-A Emblem, Blue Oval .. 1981 passenger cars on decklid or rear body panel.
US Trucks first re-used Blue Ovals in 1983. The grilles on 1980-82 F Series Pickups were replaced by the 1983 Grille, so you'll see both with and without for those years.
Europe, the UK and Australia, I'm not sure of, as refs are sketchy at best.

I just thought of another place to look. Go to the Ford Barn site and place an ad in their classifieds. There is always someone looking for a good tailgate, maybe the same people have a beat up tailgate with the decent script you're looking for.
