Well, first of all, how is the quality of this particular 1715 model? Is it worth the cash flow that it demands? I know it's around $465 or $425 or so from Superchips website. Some other wholesale sites have them for around $200 or $249. And there is always the possibility of Ebay Motors!
Second of all, I am getting Very mixed signals on the compatibility. Superchips does not specify enough (too broad) for me to tell. On some of the wholesale sites, they deinitely advise that it is compatible. I have a 1996 F150 XLT 302W. On Superchips the 1715 model is labeled "1996-2003(04 or something, no matter), but when you click make, model, then year you can only go as old as 1997. This confuses me because a buddy of mine has one and he has a '96 like myself. That isn't enough security for me to risk $300 or more. Any help would be awesome, thanks guys
I woudn't go ebay or any used dealer. those things usually cue to the computer that they are first plugged into. The next truck gets the shaft, no usability. I'd go for a new one if anything, and as long as superchips says that it covers your vehicle then you're straight.
