help! high idle!

i need some help again.... my 84 300 I6 is idling around 1500 RPM. i havent ever really messed around w/ a 1Bbl so waht exactly has to b adjusted?

On my 77, there is a screw in the throttle linkage on the back side of the carb and lies parallel to it (NOT INTO the carb) If it is set too high, you may be able to unscrew it some to adjust the idle speed. That's all I've had to do on mine to adjust the idle, but yours may be different. Good luck.

how far do u think i will have to unscrew it roughly?

High idle condition in my '83 was not the carb...the EGR valve was shot.

It sounds like Climatic Control got stuck, beffore touch anything else, check the climatic control spring & valve for proper operation.
