ok...I just bought a 1999 F150 and I am trying to figure out if it has factory keyless entry so i can pick up some FOBs. It's a supercab 4x4 with the chip in they key. I assume this model came with it but when i tried the key on and off thing 8 times nothing happened. Any ideas on how i can find out for sure if it does or doesnt have keyless entry?
Well that's the best way, but you could also simply look under the dash on the firewall for the relay box (white/silver about 4"X 6", you can't miss it if you have it), it's just to the left or so of the steering column.
THANKS!!!!....well...i do see the empty spot and studs where it would be. But its not there. I really cant believe this model didnt come with it standard!
Any idea if i pick one up at a junk yard if it can just be plugged in somewhere?
Do you see the pigtail wires for it up there where it should be? Not likely. Even so, if you have power door locks in operation right now, they are not wired in for use with a RAP module. They are wired in using relays. You would have to rewire the whole works. Not practicle.
As mentioned above, an aftermarket keyless system is your only practicle alternative.
I have a 2002 f150 supercrew 4x4 XLT with keyless entry and it has suddenly stopped working...I have checked all fuses that I am aware of and replaced the battery in the key pad...does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am getting tired of using my key. It worked to open my door one day and when I got to the store and tried locking the truck as I walked away It didn't do anything and when I manually lock the door and shut it the headlights flash and the inside lights stay on for about 30seconds...HELP!!!!

I went through a similar experience recently on my daughter's `96 Mystique. Her remote entry fob quit working. Tried replacing the batteries first, no luck. After doing some research on other sites, found reprogramming procedures for her car. Tried that, (after looking in vain for the connector behind the glove box, it was in the passenger footwell instead) no luck. Checked the batteries (new ones) with a meter, they were good. Had the fob for my wife's `97 Taurus handy, which is the same style fob as the Mystique. Tried it and the Mystique fob during programming. The Taurus fob programmed, (works on both cars now) the Mystique fob did not. Came to the conclusion that the fob croaked. Had a fob with a set of keys that I found years ago that was the same style. Found it and tried it, no luck. Checked the batteries, missing. Took the new ones out of the dead fob and tried again. It worked! Daughter was happy.
Your truck is OK since it flashes the headlights after manual locking and shutting the door. Do you have another fob for a different vehicle that you own that is the same style fob? If not, you can pick them up used on ebay for cheap. Reprogramming instructions for remote entry fobs is in the owners manual for your truck. Good luck!
i have a 2002 ford f150 with keyless entry and keypad but don't have the code please help.
Just look up under the dash on the driver side. You will see a yellowish/off white rectangular box at the firewall in the upper left corner with several electrical connectors going to it. It will have a label on the front of it with your keypad code in large numbers. This is assuming it has factory keyless with factory keypad.
