I did my 5.4l swap a couple years back and used the 4.6l ECM and wiring harness and what not. Had a custom canned tune set across the net from Bill at Power hungry performance.
Anyways i still feel like the truck isnt where it needs to be due to the tuning process.
So im wanting to swap a complete 5.4l wiring harness and ECM into my truck. Got a few laying around.
Questions
-Do i just need to swap the under hood wiring harness and ECM, ex. will everything else hook up between the two ignitions? Gauge cluster, and other management things that are tied to the ecm?
- Pats will have to be re programed i know to run, but has anyone actually done this swap to confirm that ford can make the Pats get along?
- Odometer reading, will it change? Or will it stay with the Gauge cluster?
Anyways i still feel like the truck isnt where it needs to be due to the tuning process.
Find another tuner. There's absolutely NOTHING to be gained at all by swapping out the PCM for one from a 5.4L. All you're going to do is waste alot of money and time doing this with no gains whatsoever.
