4.0 engine shock

im preparing to so a dana 44 solid axle swap on my 92 ranger with a 4.0. Im wondering if the little shock that is attached from the motor to the drivers side frame rail is needed. all the pics i've seen of solid axle swap trucks, its not there. it would be kinda in the way for where the track bar bracket needs to be, so im hoping it could be removed without any probs. anybody removed this?

It's long dead on a '92, and no it's not required, just damped the vibrations from the engine for a while when new.
