hello i would like to put a set of stock style steel wheels hubcap style on my truck prefferably fifteen inch can anyone tell me what make and model of car or truck wheels will fit ? it is a five lug pattern thanks for any help. lew
Be sure to locate the 5 x 5 1/2" wheels that will accept the early style hubcaps you desire. I'm pretty sure 61 & later are the style that clip over nubs on the wheel. You need the earlier style clips inside center housing of the rim.
I have 3 of the late style and 1 of early style on my '56 F100 project truck until I install the Mustang II front suspension and some Aerostar wheels will temporarily provide rolling capability.

I myself am useing rims from a 81 Ford full size truck and the hub caps for this truck but the hubs on the front stick out so far that I had to massage the center out ( lightly hammer the center out till they fit ). Also the caps are stainless steel and this is tricky to keep from looking banged up.
You can use the wheels from a F-100 truck up until 1963 if you want the stock hub caps to fit. 1964 was the first year on trucks that went to the modern type wheel. These are probably more plentiful to find than pre-48-50 wheels. The cars switched to the new style in 1949.
