`95 5.0 HO in `53-`56
I found a `54 F100 for sale near me at a reasonable price, and a friend has a 1995 Mustang 5.0,and 5spd trans I could buy.Its complete with comuter, harness, exhaust, etc. How hard would it be to swap this engine/trans into this truck? Are there any articles on a 5.0/5spd swap? I checked the tech section and found the artical on a 5.0/AOD swap.

LAST EDITED ON 08-Oct-01 AT 09:02 PM (EST)[p]Not a bad swap if you can handle the wiring. There's motor mounts and tranny mounts available at aftermarket places. Take lots of pictures and make notes so you know what plugs go where. And keep looking for help this swap is done all the time.
Ranger Pat and I responded at the same time and amazingly you got two people that said the same thing - a miracle!! Keep the Mustang around cuz there are lots of parts you can use of of it.

Go for it! There are motor mount crossmembers available and transmission crossmembers available that make the swap easy. However, don't forget some of the important items, like up grades to the braking system and down the road, what you want for steering, power steering or arm muscle steering. Get as much of the donor Mustang as you can. All the front end accessories, starter, alternator, a/c and p/s, even if you do not plan to use those parts right away. The Mustang headers can be made to work in this truck depending on your engine mount arrangement. Get the fan and fan clutch also. Good luck. Try to tag up with a local Ford Truck Club for advice and help with your project. What part of the country are located in?

The donor car is not available, just the eng, trans, harness, exhaust, etc out of the car.It would be ok to use the stock mustang harness right? I don`t wanna spend $500+ on an aftermarket one.The only thing i think I would have a problem with would be the clutch pedal, but if I get one out of a newer Mustang it should be easily adapted?
