now what are these x codes and where would I buy them. Or would a leveling kit be just as good?
X codes are OEM springs used on our trucks when ordered with the snow plow package. They will give you a +/- 1.5" lift up front, so it would basically be the same as a leveling kit using OEM parts.
My preference would be for X codes, but there is nothing wrong with a quality leveling kit. Parts can be purchased from anyone who sells OEM Ford parts. This is what you would need.
Spring - (Qty. 2) 2C3Z-5310-AF
U-Bolt - (Qty. 4) F81Z-5705-ZA
Nut - (Qty. 8) N805480-S426
You have to watch though, X codes or leveling kits can make a 250 ride a little nose high. The remedy to that is rear blocks from a 350.
well I have air bags in the rear so that should take care of the ride height. so now the question is do I go with the x code stuff or find a quality leveling kit.
