I have a 66 f-100 styleside long bed, i was curious to know what years may be the easiest to fit to the frame as the current bed has seen its better days. also, does anyone know of a good company body parts/sheet metal?
the holes holding down the newer beds say from a '73-'96 will be a few inches wider apart due to a frame widening after '73 on 2wd and on 4wd in '77 and later 4X4s
there was a picture of a '61-'66 4X4 with a '80s or '90s bed (floor, front metal and inner sides) with the original '66 fleetside bed skins welded on. The '90s skins were cut off leaving a solid base for the '60s bed sides to be welded to. Also I think they galvinized some under side braces or at least used better rust proofing.
