then reason im asking is because after i mounted the tires on the truck i looked to see if the tires were rubbing together and they are touching, thats not good they can get hot and cause them to blow out cant they?
you could use spacers between your rims. jeg's has 1/4" spacers for $15.00. cheaper than swapping tires. i know you can find them wider elsewhere also. here is a link to jeg's, the ones you need are at the bottom of the page. it is up to you if 1/4" is wide enough. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...10002_18581_-1
i have heard that they will heat up also but cannot confirm that. the other problem you have is with mud getting forced in between the tires, with no way for the mud to get back out. this could cause a vibration from the tires being out of balance.
If they are touching they will get hot.
If they are touching on an empty truck, they will really be touching when you add weight.
Yes dual tires that touch between the tires will cause them to blow out from all the heat created.
If you want to run wide tires on a dually, you can get a set of spacers that lets you run duals on a SRW truck and install them between the wheels. I have seen 315 tires on a dually before. But those spacers are close to 500 dollars a pair the last time I checked them.
