Tire Question

Anybody ever try to take their brand new tires off their new truck and swap them out for a different tire at a tire company for the difference in price of the tires only? I was thinking about changing out the stock 275/65r20 tires for 275/70r20 tires if I can find a tire company that will give me a credit for the stock tires and I pay for the remount and extra price of new tire, what's everyone think?

Nobody is going to swap you straight across. Lots of tire stores willl give you some kind of credit for your take offs if you buy new tires. I bought several set of 18" takes off from the dealer for 2003 and 2006 trucks, Usually paid the dealer $100 per tire. You should get more than that for the Michelin 20"

Who makes a 275/70R20?

See lots of 275/65r20 and a few 285/65r20 but none of the size you listed

I really haven't' looked at the next tire size up yet but was basing the size from the 18" rim that has a 70 height instead of 65 on the 20". I would only do a swap if they were to give me something like 90% of the stock tire price otherwise it wouldn't be worth it to me. I would just run the tires out and on the next set upgrade size. Just seeing if tire dealers would do something like I'm talking about.

They will trade you, but you will just have to go go dicker.

Most will give you something less than they pay wholesale to buy that tire from the distribution center. I really doubt you'll see 90%
