Using OD in town ?
Hi i have a 95 f250 PSD ,i have heard driveing in town in OD is hard on your transmission ? is this true ? My e4od is working great so far i would hate to be doing damage . !! thanks

The only times I turn the OD off, (I have a '97 with the E4OD), is when the road speed and engine rpm's confuse the shift logic. When that happens, my truck continually shifts between 3rd and OD.
Unless your truck continually upshifts and downshifts between 3rd and OD when driving, I'd keep OD turned on.

I agree, driving with it on in town is fine as long as its not hunting between gears. Mine usually stays in OD until I hit 36 mph by then its at bout 1100 rpm. If I feather the throttle it will stay in OD and its fine. Ive got a temp guage in my truck and it rarely gets above 180. 195148 miles on original trans and still shifts great.

I think its just a matter of how you drive in the city mine goes into od at 42-44 mph and will hold it down till about 1000 to 1100 rpm .Like the others said if it is consantly shifting hit the button and keep it out of od especially if you are towing.
