I need to change my transfer case fluid and I just wanted to double check the type and quantity of fluid to use. (Mercon/Dextron III)? Is this easy to do? I do my own oil/fuel/air filters and don't want to spent $79 if I don't have to. I apologize if this question has already been answered.

I think Mercon.. but just look in your manual... it will tell you.
Will 2 quarts do it, or should I get 3 for safe measure because I don't have a dealership anywhere nearby? I'm planning on doing mine soon. Thanks for the info.
2 quarts is all you need, but bear in mind your power steering calls for the same spec as your transfer case, so a few extra bottles won't hurt. I have synthetic ATF in mine (except for tranny - Mercon SP there).
