Remote Start Problems

I just purchased a '03 Lariat Supercrew, and there is a Ford Security System remote start on it. It looks like it was installed as an after thought. While the truck was running with keys in ignition, I got out and took the key fob with me and attempted to lock the truck and leave it running while I went in to the supermarket. All the truck did was chirp the horn a few times but didn't lock. Ever since, the valiant light flashes under the dash and when I unlock and lock it, the horn chirps, but the remote start will not work, only chirp the horn back at me. Is there a system reset to get this fixed. I disconnected the positive battery cable for probably 5 minutes, but this didn't help.

Any one got any suggestions! Thanks
