oxygen sensor
hi guys you guys were a great help to me last time with that cpm sensor worked fine after that but last night i was on the highway and i heard what sounded to me like air noise inside the engine after this sound my engine gave one good buck i was able to drive it home by stepping lightly on the accelaration anyway i think its the oxygen sensor can someone help me if they think differently and were would the oxygen sensor be located (its a 2001 ford e350 v8 powerstroke deisel 7.3 liter}

i just found out that my brand new cmp sensor went bad in 1 1/2 days is this common?i then went back to the store and they replaced it for me.i then put it in and it didnt work at all so i went back into the store and got my old one back because it worked better than the new one .talk about no luck why cant i get a good one. anyway i am to the point were i am going to ford and i think i will pay the extra money to get the factory sensor.i dont think that the after market cmp sensors are working well for my truck. anyway i hope this one will work; i will let you know' later guys

That's extremely unusual to have 2 replacment parts in a row not work. If I were you, I'd start looking elsewhere for the problem, such as UVC harness. Or even get a diagnostic to look for trouble codes.

i had it checked for trouble codes nothing came up i got these from auto zone 3 month warranty.im just going to get a refund and get it from ford if that doesnt work.then i guess i will have to check the harness like you said

Based on what I see, you have a CPS issue. Replacing the new one with the old one and it works better indicates that. The old one is probably also on it's last legs. Also, make sure to check the wiring harness and connections.

definatly check that plug closely any corrosion in there can and will cause problems. I would also clean it real good, those connections are pretty small and it doesn't take much to make a bad connection.
