wait to start light

when i turn the ignition to the on position the wait to start light is not coming on does this mean my glow plugs are no good? and if so how much to replace?

It could be your glow plug relay too.

I agree with crewsr, and in light of your post about the white smoke at startup, I would suspect the relay, although I had to replace the relay, and my GP indicator light still cycled on and off.
