i hav an 84 f250 project ive been working on the motor is from a 79 e-350 3/4. it has an oil filter relocating kit from jcwhitney on it. my dipstick says the oil is full but when the engine is runing the oil light comes on as if there isnt enough.... any ideas?
put ya a oil presure gauge on it bet its real low to make the light come on or your sending unit went bad if the gauge dosnt show much psi a set of bearins and oil pump should fixer up
Check the end of you sending unit, sometimes junk will plug the hole giveing a wrong reading. A mechanical gauge would be a good idea to let you know if the pressure is too low.

ands where would i find the sending unit on the 79 460?
This might sound dumb...but how new is your oil filter? And daszanto is correct. The light cuts on when you have low pressure....and it is something ridicusoulsy low. ( somewhere under 10lbs. if I recall correctly)
