Trying to trouble shoot a hiccup while driving on a 97, when I read the codes with actron obd II code reader, I get no codes. I think it the hiccup may be a loose wire , is it possible that my 97 is not OBD II compatible? I have a TS 6 pos chip installed, will that cause a lack of codes. When I mess with the fuel pressure regulator on the back of the HPOP that is when the pickup hiccups and dies, I don't want to replace good parts if I don't have to. I also have read a lot of stuff about the cps but wouldn't that generate a code?
My truck started hiccupping on the way home from work tonight. I called my dealership-service-tech-friend and told her what was happening. She said it might be the CPS and yes, it would throw a code.
I don't have a code-reader at this time. I'm looking for one and am not sure what I should get, so I'm no help regarding OBD II-compatibility. Sorry.
Thanks, at least I know it should throw a code now. I have disconnected the ts chip and I am going to drive it to see if that will allow codes to come through.
Well I think that I have isolated the issue, it was having the hiccup issue every time that I drove, I disconnected the TS 6 pos switch to see if I could pick up a code to identify the problem, and apparently that was the problem. Driven 3 days no issue, I am going to continue to drive for a week or so, but I think that it was it. I am not sure if it is the chip or a connection. The chip has been installed for a year with no issues, but maybe the wx change caused a poor connection. Is there something that I should use to preserve the connection the the computer terminal when I plug the chip back in?
