well assuming you also dropped the pan and did a filter also. add about 7 quarts to the tranny and start it up if you didn't drop the pan and the trans is still full add about 4 quarts. after the truck is started check the level. The TC should hold about 7 or 8 quarts I think. so just add till it good on the dip stick. drop it into gear a few times to be sure everything is full of oil then double check the level.

I'm going to take your question literally, so don't be offended by this reply.

Judging from the wording of your question, I'm assuming you want to know WHERE to add ATF.

Add Motorcraft Mercon ATF XT-2-QDX or Dexron Mercon III through the dipstick tube to bring the fluid level up between the MIN and MAX lines on the dipstick.

I read on a page where a guy suggested using a fuel line and one way bulb like from a boat and buy the ATF in a bulk container. Kind of made sense to me, might be a little cleaner and less of a hassle.

I read that one, also. I barely have enough room in the garage for my wife's car, let alone a container of bulk tranny fluid. I don't use that much tranny fluid, so a bulk container doesn't meet my usage amount.

It did sound like it make the process much easier and cleaner.

Bulk container probably means a 1 or 5 gallon not a 55 gallon! That would take alot of miles to run all that stuff!
