I have had some FE's that had a little as 10psi at idle about 600rpm..and the went right up after idle to 35 to 40psi...all at operating temp with 30W oil... and with 80 degree outside temps..
And run as low as 5psi in 100 degree temps at idle...and as high as 70 psi at temps befow freezing! as long as you have pressure..I wouldnt worry about it!! and of course bearing clearences have alot to do with it also!! JMO..
Yea, it really all depends on how the clearances are. I would say as long as your over 15 PSI at idle, and 30 PSI are any higher RPM, you should fine in a stock motor. Now if it's been rebuilt then it all depends on how it was built, and what type of oil.
yea, the 10 psi for every 1,000RPM is what I was taught at school too. Kinda like for every inch in diameter of bearing jouranl, you need .001" oil clearance....or maybe it was .0015, or .002"???....wait....001" sounds right tho
