Well today was 1/2 price weekend at pick yo sheeåT and funds were low as can be expected. However did manage to get a set of headers off a 74/ish Explorer, dont know what brand maybe I'll get a pict and someone can identify them. They reach down to the bellhousing where they meet the pipe. After getting the damn things off installing them on my truck is going to be something that can wait... I aint cursed so much in yeARS!!! lol
Also got a brake booster/dual master cyl/prop valve off of a F250 4X4 with drum drum setup. Hoping to up the breaking power at bit with this until discs can be had. "Likely be asking for some insight on this"
And for anyone following along.. yep managed to find a late model windshield washer reseviour with pump and left the damn thing sitting on the engine after snagging the booster...SOB!!!

well probably didnt work anyhow right ? LMAO.
Awwwww, you want the nodular stainless aircraft billet anyway. Uh, yeah, the shiney one. LMAO
Just for S&G look up the size of wheel cylinders between the two trucks. I responded to another thread thinking there would be a difference. Then I searched NAPA, found they listed same size between applications. Just the kind of detail that brings excitement to my life.
I got my truck new in Feb '75 and figure I broke the windshield washer by adding plain water to it by the end of March. Bowie AZ ~3600 feet. Got tired of it leaking and removed it. Now use that push button switch to operate a 6 volt Bendix fuel pump to fill the carb before hitting the starter.

Yeah, yeah, you laugh at underhood aerodynamics! LOL You know you like it...
Hey Alvin, I was wondering where you've been. Can that bendix pump double as an oiler? I'm used to the poor-boy's pre lube: crank it 'till the bowl fills. LOL
Yeah I know..thats why I'am selling the Turbine wheels and tires off my truck!! So I can but some chrome one's on with less wind Drag!! Might be good for another .000001 of a mile an hour!! But hey!! thats going the right way!! But I am sell them!

You got me confused with someone that actually knows something. :/

For years and years I was using one of those too. ;) But the more the pickup sat, sometimes a month or more, the more obvious was the need. AZ here so even a week can make a difference. :)
I had the fuel pump, it came with a 6v dune buggy, way back. Bolted it to the frame there with the electric fuel-tank swtiching valve...
And using a hacksaw, hoof rasp, drill, drift pin punches and some of my shotgun shot-size collection... got rid of the choke off the 2100 too.
Did I tell you I've been heat stroked a couple times and struck by lightning too? :)
[edit: checking to see the URL was going to work, noticed...
you can see my carb spacer and its top+bottom thick-cardboard-gaskets
the "temporary" bowl vent risers (want to make some out of aluminum)
the choke operating-rod-hole filler... 1/4" thick aluminum plate screwed on from underneath
the allen "set screws" to fill the choke shaft holes for smoother air flow ;)
what you can't see is the power valve is missing and its passages blocked... makes for better wide-open-power going over mountain passes... the only time I ever need to open the throttle plates wide-open BTW

Did notice some carbon build up on the upper portion of carburator. Maybe some backfiring thru carb now that the choke is off?
Also notice a black canister on back, did you set up the carb with cruise?

Are you using anything as a heat shield for starter?

It will be a while before I install these I need to get over the uninstall part.. what a PITA...I was so far into I just could not leave them there for some quick thinking how do you do to come along and snag them LOL... Need to save up some major copper for the dual exhaust setup pipe/mufflers.
You know thats a strange thing about headers and starters!! When I put My headers on 30+ years ago..I went thru 3 starters in a year?? killed em from heat soak I guess? But then the last one I put on has been on the truck for with different builds for 29 years? Something like that? My memory is about as short as my ----...LOL..Bad case Of CRS!!
I really dont know what if any difference was? Weird!!
My brother had a set of headers on the 360 in the F100, long before I was driving. They eventually rusted through in the collector area, but they're still out back. If it ever stops raining I'll go take a look.
Redman; I was getting a lot of static three+ years by the War Department so at a weak nonpackrat moment tossed 'em and they were used just over a year. I already had a set of Thorley's ceramic coated in/out for the truck.
