I need to replace the headers on my 79 bronco 400 engine anyway while I am working on the exhaust should I add an h pipe would I notice a differance or would it just be somthing for me to tear off on a rock it has I think 2 inch pipes with glass pack mufflers the new headers I ordered were headmans if any of that makes a differance also the motor has an rv type cam and eldelbrock intake and carb thanks in advance
gbrett,
if you are replacing your headers you may as well go ahead and put in a h-pipe or a x-pipe, if you are running true duals these will make a big difference in the scavaging effect and help the motor run like it should. if your running true duals go ahead with 2.5 in pipe, you've got plenty motor for that size and go with a nice muffler or my favorite, glasspacks
its already out the back was that way when I bought it and if you drive with the back window down it gases you out quickly so I never drive with it down
I almost died because of that. Bought a bronco with no back window and no tailpipe. After being in it for 12 straight hours, I was no longer capable of movement. All my muscles contracted and stayed that way, my body pulled itself into the fetal position, and my friend and girlfriend had to carry me into the emergency room. It didn't help they had to rush me to the hospital in the bronco. I'd spend a few bucks and have the tail pipes redone.
