I backed my truck out this morning and when i put it in drive the ABS light and the parking brake light came on and stayed on. I know my brake isnt engaged at all it works great and i know the ABS system works fine too. Any idea what will cause these lights to come on? Its on a 92 F-150.
You know I had the same problem and noticed I had a leak. I wanted to find it so I tried to take the rear drums off. And I mean I tried and couldn't. It took a monster pry bar and both my dad and myself to get those drums off. There was no pad left on either shoe and about an 1/8" lip on the drums. I was amazed that I was still stopping fine. I fixed the problem, but I had to buy new drums and all new parts for the brakes. Hopefully you won't have the same problem I did. You shouldn't if you check them periodically. I sure learned my lesson. Oh and once I fixed the brakes, the lights went off.
Well the drums and pads have about 611 miles on them and those are very easy miles with mimimal stoping so i doubt there bad...but its worth a look I just went through a little mud puddle on monday so maybe I have a bunch of mud up in the drum.
