Thanks for everyones input. I love the idea of a pod mounted switch! Gonna try and hold out for something like that in the future. I hate to drill or cut the dash.
I think I'll just use the velcro for now and put it where the ESOF is. Temporary as far as I'm concerned. I idea of using a $.25 piece of velcro to mount my really expensive switch just doesn't sit right. I have a manual 4x4 so when and if I ever feel froggy enough I might cut me a hole to flush mount it. Good call on that one Zephyr.
Haven't signed up YET!, so I posted pictured of the switch in my gallery. I was really surprised at how small it is. Its seriously FOB sized. I was thinking it would be a little bigger.
I have the old style switch that I made a mounting plate for and installed it under the dash. I got tired of having to reach for it and now it is mounted on the top left side of the fuse box header. The fuse door close's without any trouble and the switch is real handy. Also no holes in the dash.
No picture of the new location yet.
Heres my setup, I like it, it seems to be the perfect spot. No drilling either. This is temporary until Jody comes out with his new mounting plate/mechanism that he promises to create (talks about it in the instructions that comes with the chip). I guess its suppose to be an accessory you can get for it.

just how i did mine till jody gets the mounting plate..but the flush mount into the dash sounded nice to... hmmmmm
That actually does sound pretty sweet. I just cringe when I think about cutting my dash though.
i just went out and put my sp diesel TC lock and exhaust brake in..that has the same box as my DP does..looking at my oil presure and water temp gauge and the over the streering wheel dash pod. i found the pod comes down around that same place..i think i might cut that pod rather then my dash..hmmm what do you think??? i have this pod here..http://www.puredieselpower.com/catalog/ford-9904-gauge-instrument-bezel-mount-autometer-15003-p-550.html
just below the gauge on both sides..i think there is just enouph room for it there.. i coud run the wires behind the pod down under the dash no holes no mess..i may try this..
lol havent gotten it in yet..i got to move my wait to start light cause it is right be hind the gauge..the other lights are not that big a deal..where the gauges set you cant see the lower corners about 2 1/2 inches in and 2 1/2 inches up
