i've personally flushed over 100 tranny's, as long as you put in the recommended fluid the trans wont get damaged

I dont see why you would need a "flush machine" to do the job when you can just remove a cooler line and let it pump out the old while your adding the new?

If your not into the "self flush" method, you could accomplish the same thing by dropping the pan and draining the torque converter, and changing the filter.....that is exactly what I do once every two years on my 1993 full size Bronco with a E4OD. On a side not I have also added a big *** B & M trans cooler, external remote filter, and a trans temp gauge to keep a eye on things!

With the Precision Industries TC, you cannot drain the TC easily

No secrets with the flush machine

There is nothing special about the machine the quick lubes use the flush the tranny...The fluid pumped out of the tranny (by the tranny's pump) goes in on one side of a piston and pushes the new fluid into the pan to be pumped by the tranny. Its exactly the "old school" do it youself way, only automated and easier.

Problems come if you do a flush without dropping the pan and changing the filter...you send all the dirty stuff throught the filter and it just gets clogged. Some less-than-respectable shops do this and the tranny dies of a clogged filter induced fluid starvation.

So...if they drop the pan, change the filter (flilling the pan with new fluid) then do the flush...only clean fluid goes throught the filter and all the fluid is changed. Get it done right!
