Super tuner

Hey, I've got a Microchips Supertune that I installed several years ago on my 2000 7.3 PSD. I tried to use it to day to step back down to stock and can get no response from the unit. Any ideas?

Thanks.

They require power from the ADAL port under the dash to run. So if it doesn't turn on, likely you don't have power going to it.

Any other problems, it should give you a code or at least say it cannot communicate.

Check your cigar lighter fuse. The power for the OSBD port goes through it.

I am using a superchips tuner #1705 in a 2000 7.3 crew cab dually 2wd. I can't tell much difference in fuel mileage. Where it shows up is in acceleration pulling my trailer. I have only used in tow mode set up for any length of time. I tried the max hp once (not towing) just for a comparison for less than 50 miles and did not like the sound of the engine. My intake has been upgraded but nothing has been done to the exhaust system. I think you will see greater benefits if the exhaust is changed to 4"or larger.

Thanks for the help - my lighter fuse was blown. Next question - can I reset this truck to the Stock map and use the tuner on a different 7.3-equipped Super Duty?

Thanks again,
R0cky

As long as the tuner has the calibration for it. The label on the back should have a year range, if the other SD is within that range and the stock tune was unloaded from it, yes.
